Philippines Natural Sitio Naguey Kalsada

Origin Philippines, region: cordillera administrative region, atok, benguet and masl 1200-1400, washing station sitio naguey, varietal typica, bourbon, San Ramon, process natural, it is our second year of partnering with kalsada coffee a social enterprise that champions Filipino specialty coffee producers. While we are still offering the stellar sitio belis link, we are roasting a second offering to showcase their hard work and improvements on the farm-level. Sitio naguey sits on the sunny side of the mountain slope of sitio belis. Here, 12 smallholder family households produced this crop of natural coffee. In natural processing, the cherries are picked and sorted before being placed on raised drying beds. The coffees are agitated every hour, kept in sacks in the evening and laid on the beds again in the morning. This meticulous process is repeated for 3-4 weeks until the coffee reaches a 10% moisture content. The coffee is then bagged to rest for 16 weeks before being hulled and sorte

Thanks to the generosity of kick starter supporters, friends, and family both in, and out of the coffee industry, kalsada established their first community mill in sitio belis, located in benguet. Home to both vegetable farmers and growers, this region has been cultivating coffee since the end of WWII. However, individual farmers were processing coffees in different ways, using practices that were either passed on from their predecessors or other farmers who have joined trainings outside the community. Tanzania Iyula

Origin Tanzania, region song we, masl 1700, co-op iyula agricultural marketing cooperative and society acmos, varietal n93, kt 423, process washed, the iyula villages of Tanzania have been cultivating coffee since 1938. coffee was brought to this region by missionaries who gathered seeds from the rung we district. Since its introduction to the iyula villages, coffee farming has been handed down from generation to generation. The current secretary of the agricultural marketing cooperative society acmos, mchina mwamlima, is the great grandson of one of the original farmers. The acmos co-op is composed of many smallholder producers, each one producing approximately 1.3 bags of coffee annually. Two-hundred and 70 -seven smallholder producers contributed to this lot and their hard work shows in the cup. notes of pomelo, white tea and golden raisins dominate this coffee. This coffee shines as an espresso and is absolutely refreshing in a sparkling americano.
Ethiopia Natural Gerbicho Rogicha

Origin Ethiopia, region gerbicho rogicha, blue hora district, guji zone, oromia, region gerbicho rogicha, blue hora district, guji zone, oromia, producer: girma edema, guji coffee exports, variety ingidenous heirloom, process natural, this coffee is brought to us by 1500 small coffee producers he works with in the gerbicho rogicha association in the guji zone of Ethiopia. Bordered alongside the coffee growing regions of sidamo and yirgacheffe, the guji zone is named after a tribe of the oromo people, and produces a wide variety of coffees with fruity, floral, and syrupy flavor profiles. Lead by grima edema of the guji coffee export plc, the gerbicho rogicha association focuses on the selection of only ripe cherries that are meticulously dried and milled. These farmers cultivate coffee in five acre plots and they deliver ripe cherries to the mill where it is carefully sorted and placed on raised drying beds in thin layers for 18 to 21 days. Farms from this region are situated between 1700 and 1900 masl and are mainly growing caturra, pache and bourbon varieties. Improved farmer training programs have helped this region increase the quality of their coffees in recent years and the results are clear in the cup. dominated by flavors of blackcurrants, walnut, and demerara sugar, this complex yet easy-to-drink coffee has quickly become a favorite on our cupping table.
Guatemala Washed Santa Sofia

Origin Guatemala, region Alta Veracruz, masl 1650, producer Pablo josh ferrigno Figueroa, varietal: caturra, catuai, process: washed, Pablo josh ferrigno Figueroa is a third generation coffee grower. As a young adult, he worked on his family's farms in Guatemala's warm coastal areas. After attending a conference on quality and the future of coffee, he focused his efforts on producing specialty coffee. In 1991, he established his farm, Santa Sofia, in Alta Veracruz, a region with a wet and cool climate. It was an uncommon place for coffee production because of its cool climate and friends, family and other producers were skeptical of his plans. However, Santa Sofia has grown to produce 500 bags of green coffee per year, offering several varietals and producing some of the best coffees in the region. Ethiopia Washed Bedhatu Jibicho

Origin Ethiopia, region gedeo zone, gedeb district, masl 1800-1900 meters, producer bedhatu jibicho, co-op banko gotiti varietal: heirloom Arabic, process: washed an octogenarian who has managed her farm for over 50 years, bedhatu jibicho began working in coffee in the 1960s when the government gave land to her husband. She is a founding member and role model for the banko gotiti cooperative. Bedhatu takes great pride in her work and has taught her sons to ensure the quality of each harvest. This is the third year we've carried bedhatu's exceptional coffee, rich with flavor notes of black tea, bright florals, and plums.

A blend dedicated to sustaining all livelihoods. No frills, smoke, or mirrors, just quiet comfort. Confident enough to stand out from the crowd, the shore leave hook is strangely familiar, yet still fresh and exciting around the edges. This blend is the result of coffee collaboration with a friend and was built to be the boldest of andytown's offerings. We love it as espresso, but it has been known to make a mean cup of drip coffee as well. On espresso, look for creamy flavors of dark chocolate and sweet tobacco. In pour-over methods, notes of honey-roasted peanuts shine through.

Origin Guatemala, region huehuetenango, masl 1800, varietal pache, caturra, process fully washed, we believe that your coffee should taste amazing--whether it's caffeinated or not. this coffee is fully washed and grown in the huehuetenango region in Guatemala by Ana maria Ortega. This lot was first selected for it's taste before it was sent to the Swiss water processing plant for decaffeinate. Notes of sweet graham and mandarin get rounded out with a rich juicy finish.
