Performance Training - Middle School Athletes (ages 11-13)
Each 60-minute Middle School Training Session Will Include 30-minutes Of Strength Training (st) And 30-minutes Of Speed Development-directional Change (sd-dc). Scientific Research Shows That Athletes At This Age Are Primed For New Information And Ready To Learn Athletic Movement Patterns.Strength Training (st)
the foundation of athletic performance and injury prevention begins with the development of stability, strength and flexibility across all joints and throughout an athlete's movement patterns. api's middle school st program will emphasize: balance and proprioception, core stability and strength, joint specific stability and mobility, bodyweight control and resistance
Speed Development-directional Change (sd-dc)
speed, a measure of how fast an athlete can sprint short distances, will be trained and enhanced as a consistent part of a well-rounded training program. directional change (agility) occurs in all planes of motion: side-to-side, forward-to-backward, backward-to-forward, 45, 90, 180, 360 and every and direction in between. an athlete trained to make a quick and efficient directional change will improve in all phases of sport performance. api's middle school sd-dc program will emphasize: dynamic flexibility, linear speed development, multi-directional agility, foot speed
Performance Training - High School Athletes (ages 14-18)
Each Api High School Athlete Has The Opportunity To Create A Personalized Performance Training Program Incorporating Each Of The Following Program Options.Strength Training (st)
the foundation of athletic performance and injury prevention begins with the development of stability, strength and flexibility across all joints and throughout an athlete's movement patterns. each athlete will receive an individualized strength training program reflective of age, gender, sport, medical history and training experience. api's high school st program will emphasize: balance and proprioception, core stability and strength, joint specific stability and mobility, muscular strength and power

Performance Training - Collegiate Athletes (ages 18+)
The Api Coaching Staff Will Work With Each Collegiate Athlete To Create A Personalized Training Program Incorporating Their School-issued Training Program, Api(st) And (sd-dc) Training Programs.Strength Training (st)
under the guidance of the api coaching staff, each collegiate athlete will be guided through their school-issued training program in an athlete-receptive training environment. api collegiate athletes will also have the option to follow a strength training program developed by api.

Athlete Evaluation - Performance Readiness Evaluation (pre)
What Is Measured Can Be Improved! The Api Performance Readiness Evaluation (pre) Is A Complete, Bio-mechanical Strength, Flexibility And Movement Analysis To Isolate An Athlete's Structural Compensations, Muscular Imbalances, Athletic Movement Restrictions And Injury Risk Factors. The Api Performance Readiness Evaluation (pre) Includes These Distinct Phases Of Evaluation:Postural Assessment
evaluation of an athlete's static posture provides the api coaching staff with an effective method for identifying muscular imbalances and structural deficiencies developed as a result of repetitive sport-related movement or prior musculoskeletal injury. specific areas of focus include: feet, ankles, knees, hips and shoulders.
Functional Movement Assessment
the api functional movement assessment (fma) is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are essential to efficient athletic movement and the prevention of sport-related injury. by screening these movements, the fma readily identifies functional movement restrictions and joint-specific mobility and stability limitations. these limitations reduce the effects of sport performance training and increase the likelihood of suffering a sport-related injury.
Joint Specific Mobility
mobility is the combination of normal joint range of motion and sufficient muscular flexibility. this is a must for proper mechanics and injury prevention. mobility allows the body to move in all six degrees of motion, therefore giving the ability to perform any motion. mobility allows the generation of elastic energy between muscles, and therefore establishes a base for efficient power production. specific areas of focus include ankle, hips, thoracic spine and shoulders.
Manual Muscle Testing
muscular imbalance impacts structural alignment and increases the stress on joints, ligaments and muscles. manual muscle testing is used to determine the extent of the muscular imbalance. athletes with specific muscular imbalances will recruit secondary muscles as primary movers to create athletic movement resulting in inefficient movement and an increased risk of sport-related injury. specific areas of focus include glutes, hips and shoulders.
