Coffee

Sumatra Mandheling Aceh
Arabica coffee production in Sumatra began in the 18th century under Dutch colonial influence, introduced first to the northern region of Aceh, from which this coffee hails. Wet-Hulled coffees from Sumatra have a distinct characteristic that many people love: The unique "wet-hulled" process combined with specific cultivars of coffee creates an earthy, herbaceous, and intense cup with a medium-heavy body.
Guatemala Antigua Finca Cabrajo
As you descend into the picturesque town of Antigua on the road from Guatemala City, you will see an old brick wall and the unlikely gold script lettering that reads "Cabrejo." This is the entrance to the home of Agustin Fashen, and the gateway to the lower part of Finca Cabrejo that lies between the one-way roads in and out of Antigua. Primarily Bourbon cultivars, Cabrejo shows high level of caramel and raw sugar sweetness in brewed cups, City + roasts accented by raisin and semi sweet chocolate notes filling out the finish. The dry fragrance shows unrefined sugar sweetness, as does the wet aroma, a light touch of cinnamon spice in light roasts, and heavily weighted in caramelizing sugar sweetness. This sweet set of scents offers a glimpse into the brewed cup too and Cabrejo is as versatile in brew method as it is in the roaster. It boasts big body, brooding raw sugar sweetness, and balanced bittersweetness in the finish across a wide range of roasts.Deep medium and beyond roasts provide for an exceptional single origin espresso.
Fair Trade Organic Honduras La Fuente
Building on our Farm Direct relationships in Honduras, we've recently added this gem from Finca La Fuente in El Playon. La Fuente is named after the natural mountain spring that bubbles up from the ground and irrigates the coffee trees on the slopes below. Palm trees serve as wind breaks and the coffee are meticulously cared for. Notes of cocoa, malt, and honey permeate, with a mild, citric acidity and silky body.
Fair Trade Organic Mexico Chiapas
Grown in the mountains of the northern Chiapas region of Mexcio at 5,000 ft above sea level, this Fair Trade and Organic Certified coffee comes from several small farm holders, and is processed at the farm micro-mills in the area. This fully washed arabica coffee brings a heavy body and creamy cup to the table, with notes of butterscotch, chocolate, and praline.
Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Awash River Natural
With blueberry, dried red fruits, chocolate, and vanilla tones, this brand new offering from the birthplace of coffee is sure to please. These heirloom varietals grown elevations exceeding 6,000 ft above sea level are harvested by small holder farms, then processed at coops utilizing the waters of the Awash River, where it is graded and dried in whole cherry. Typically, whole cherry is put into soaking tanks where the "floaters" (under ripe coffee) are removed. The coffee is then laid to dry on raised drying beds where it takes around 3 full weeks to dry. During this time workers tend to the drying beds, turning the coffee to facilitate even drying, and hand picking out any defects they see.
Tanzania AA Karatu Single Estate
Near the ring of the Ngorongoro crater in northern Tanzania, the rich, dark, volcanic soil with moderate bimodal rainfall provide an ideal climate for this arabica coffee production. Dark chocolate, hazelnut, and blueberry notes highlight the cup. Fully washed, and beautifully representative of how the premium specialty coffee scene in Tanzania has evolved beyond the peaberry paradigm.
Fair Trade Peru Las Damas de San Ignacio
About the origin: This Fair Trade Peru is our newest Peruvian delivery. Coffees are composed of Typica, Mundonovo, Caturra and Catimor varietals. Notes of Dark Chocolate, Citrus, and Honey are noticeable in the cup. A sparkling representative of what Peruvian coffee can be.
Brazil Cerrado
About the origin: Cerrado is a region in the state of Minas Gerais, which is now the largest coffee-producing state in Brazil. The elevation is between 3,000 and 4,000 feet. The coffees grown in this region are a blend of Mundo Novo and Catuai varietals. A rich coffee with tones of cocoa and walnut. Full-bodied and clean this is a traditional tasting Brazil - thick, creamy, nutty and sweet.
Colombia Supremo
Aroma includes cocoa and spice. The body is medium/full with mild acidity. The flavor is very dependent on the roast. At a Medium Roast you will enjoy soft notes of walnut, cedar and spice, brighter acidity, with more of a baker’s chocolate finish. A darker roast brings out more caramel-sweet flavors and hints of a dried dark fruit along with smoky and nutty tones.
Brazil Mogiana
About the origin: The Mogiana region of Brazil is known for producing good, consistent cup quality, year after year. Elevation is between 3,200 and 4,300 feet. The coffees grown in this region are a blend of Bourbon, Mundo Novo, and Catuai varietals. A rich coffee with tones of chocolate; a cup everyone will enjoy. Full bodied and clean this is a traditional tasting Brazil - thick, creamy, nutty and sweet. At the darker roasts a sweet first taste, almost a little fruity quickly turns darker toned in a bakers chocolate to slightly toasted walnut. Hints of molasses and caramel can be found.
