This excellent offering from Guatemala is an organically grown bird friendly coffee certified by the smithsonian migratory bird center. The coffee is grown and distributed by barillense de agricultores association (asobagri) guaranteeing only the finest socially, ecologically and economically responsible coffees coming out of the region and in the world. We roast it medium which brings out the bright, citric acidity of lemon grass tea that gives way to the deeper fruity orange/apricot flavors, finishing with a great subtle floral peach blossom note. The complexity of this coffee is amazing.
Brazil Sul de Minas (16 oz.)

This estate grown coffee comes from the minas gerais region in southeastern Brazil. One of the largest states in the country and the main producer of coffee. The name itself is said to mean "general mines" as the area is known for spectacular cavern systems and many working mineral mines. The coffee itself is not your typical Brazil, the acidity comes through at first but then mellows into a low note nuttiness and finishes with the smooth milk chocolate tone. We roast this coffee to "full city" just touching on second crack to mute some of the acidity this develops the sweetness and body for a great balance. Truly a fine coffee meant to be savored and shared.

This selection is grown in the Northern sumatra province around the lintong region on shore of lake toba. The volcanic loam soil in the region is perfect for producing exceptional coffees. The coffee is grown on small regional farms, triple picked and then wet hulled at a central location. Flavor profile: the first thing to hit you is the heavy, rich body and syrupy mouth feel. The pleasant flavor of raisins and currant give way to the hints of cocoa and a nice woody finish.

Ground grind. Coming to us from the sidamo region in Southern Ethiopia, one of the most well known growing regions in the country. Where conditions are perfect for producing some of the finest coffees in the world. Flavor profile: the coffee has a delicate soft body perfectly balanced with the lemony citric acidity. Main flavor notes are fresh tea leaves with apricot blossoms for a nice floral finish much like many of the ethiopian coffees produced in the yirgacheffe region.

In Kenya coffee production has faced many challenges over the years that have pushed many of the farmers to other crops. This makes the fine coffees from the region increasingly scarce and the quality sometimes wanes. We have managed to bring you an excellent coffee from the factory in kiawanduma where rehab to many of the area farms and the commitment to teach farmers modern methods and sustainable crop management have brought the yields back up. This fully washed coffee has a clean crisp orange blossom flavor, buttery and rich with cinnamon-spice under tones exciting all of the senses with its fantastic floral aroma.

Peru the temperate climate of the mountains and highlands of Peru makes it the perfect region for growing high quality arabica coffees. Almost all of the coffee produced in the region is organically farmed and shade grown over 1, 200 meter. Growing coffee in some of the most remote areas in Peru is not without its challenges though. Poor access roads and dense jungle vegetation are very common. The cooperatives that have formed in the area, like coagra, have improved the infrastructure and introduced more modern farming techniques yielding some of the finest coffees available today. Flavor profile: you will find flavor notes of milk chocolate with nuts, sweet rich caramel. A medium body and pleasing mouth-feel.
