Cobba-Lotta

Cole's Cuban Mix

Ham & Smokey Cheese

sammie's mom combines maple glazed ham, smoked gruyere cheese, lettuce, tomato and red onion with a freshly-prepared spicy chipotle sauce. we serve it on sliced french sourdough, but you can order our ham & smokey cheese sandwich on any of our fresh breads. comes with a choice of chips or our famous homemade potato salad.

Italian Mix

our italian mix sandwich combines the finest genoa salami, cappicola and mortadella with provolone cheese and fresh tomato and red onion; add balsamic vinaigrette and our freshly-prepared basil-garlic mayonnaise and serve it on cole's peace's own fresh-baked cuban bread, and you've got a sandwich. traditionalists will want to have it toasted in our cuban sandwich press, or you can order it plain on any of our fresh sandwich breads. comes with a choice of chips, our famous cole's slaw or homemade potato salad.

Turkey & Cheese

we start with roasted turkey breast meat and red peppers, then add fresh lettuce and tomato, then we top it with our special garlic-basil mayonnaise. this is the start of a great sandwich. finally, we balance all of these flavors with a slice of buttery, danish havarti cheese. that's our turkey and cheese sandwich. on whole grain, it's a masterpiece. comes with a choice of chips, cole's slaw, or our famous homemade potato salad.

Baguette

ingredients: all natural hard red spring wheat flour, kosher salt, water & yeast. it's hard to find an authentic baguette in paris these days. much of what is available is mass-produced and trucked to site for sale. there are fewer on-premise bakeries every year. quel dommage. well, at least you can get an authentic, hand-made baguette in key west. i told you this was paradise!

Ciabatta

ingredients: all natural hard red spring wheat flour, kosher salt, water & yeast. our version of the traditional ciabatta is a very versatile small, flat loaf. in thin slices, it makes a great dinner bread or for dipping in olive oil. sliced lengthwise in becomes the basis for grilled pizza. we use ciabatta for two of our favorite sandwiches, the ciabatta-lotta and the cobba-lotta.

Cinnamon Raisin

ingredients: all natural hard red spring wheat flour, olive oil, milk, kosher salt, water, cinnamon, raisins. our cinnamon raisin bread may bring back fond memories of the cinnamon raisin toast you had as a child. well, now that you're all grown up you can have it any time you want: as long as it's monday, wednesday or friday. that's the only time we bake it. makes great french toast too.

Country Italian

ingredients: all natural hard red spring wheat flour, kosher salt, water & yeast. our country italian is crusty on the outside and airy on the inside. with the flavors of tuscany itself. great with wine and cheese, bruschetta, tapanade, or little garlic and olive oil. perfectly accompanies most anything.

Cuban Bread

ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, lard, water, starter and yeast. we were forced into the cuban bread-making business, when the only cuban bakery in town closed suddenly this past summer. cuban bread is a unique product only found in tampa, miami and key west. it makes great sandwiches, but it goes stale very quickly. that's why it's the only bread we bake 7 days a week. our traditional cuban bread recipe has earned a spot on the table of the best cuban restaurants in key west. we use it as the basis for our cuban mix sandwich and cheese toast.

French Sourdough

ingredients: all natural hard red spring wheat flour, levain starter, kosher salt, water & yeast. this is our original pain au levain, but we got tired of explaining what the name meant, so now we simply call it french sourdough. the progenator of this loaf (and don't ask me to explain that) dates back to the 1980's.

Mango

ingredients: all natural hard red spring wheat flour, wheat berries, unhulled sesame seeds, flax & millet seeds, mangoes, levain starter, kosher salt, water & yeast. our signature bread. we've shipped our mango bread to fans all over the country. if you want us to ship to you, call the store, but be forewarned, shipping can be expensive - even better, come to key west and take some home in your carry-on luggage. tastes great warm with butter or cream cheese; also makes great french toast.

Olive Fougasse

ingredients: all natural hard red spring wheat flour, olive oil, milk, kosher salt, water, yeast, kalamata olives. this short, flat bread made with olive oil and milk is laced with kalamata olives. we usually only make this bread on wednesdays and fridays, and it has developed a dedicated local following. if you want one, you had better come in early.

Rye

ingredients: all natural hard red spring wheat flour, rye starter, caraway seeds, kosher salt, water & yeast. our rye bread is lighter and more subtle-tasting than your traditional dark rye or pumpernickel breads. we think that's a good thing. flavored with rye starter and caraway seeds, our rye bread makes a great sandwich or serve it with butter at your dinner table.

Whole Grain

ingredients: all natural hard red spring wheat flour, wheat berries, unhulled sesame seeds, flax & millet seeds, levain starter, kosher salt, water & yeast. natural flours, grains and seeds make this dense hearty bread a meal in itself. great with sandwiches or toasted. our whole grain is very popular with the many east european immigrants who live in key west. just like babcia used to make
