A delicate, chocolatey coffee from a protected reserve called alto mayo in the amazonas region of peru. the coopbam cooperative produces this offering from a remote, high altitude area. It's part of a conservation initiative to preserve the land for coffee production for future generations. taste notes: milk chocolate, apricot jam, dulce de leche, passion fruit and pumpkin pie spice. Creamy, velvety mouthfeel with medium body and an approachable white peach malic acidity. hints of apple and pineapple juice on the linger.

Ethiopia delicate. fruity. coffee is shipped whole bean to ensure absolute freshness and flavor. we first visited the bukisa wet mill in 2015 during peak harvest and were incredibly impressed with how clean and well maintained the facilities and equipment were. such painstaking detail and care often translates into higher scoring coffee and cleaner flavor profiles. bukisa proves that true time and time again with incredible cup scores. Coffee is a way of life here. It was a thing of beauty to see the teamwork as the coffee was being sorted and processed on a long table in the afternoon sun. over 20 people worked alongside each other, swaying to the rhythm of a shared song. cupping notes- on the nose: citrus, sweet sugared pineapple. taste: meyer lemon, fresh red currant, cane sugar and hints of pineapple juice. delicate and fruity. A stunning flavor profile you'll absolutely love in any preparation.

Colombia rich. chocolatey. coffee is shipped whole bean to ensure absolute freshness and flavor. robinson figueroa is fourth generation farmer and a standout among his coffee producing peers. located in the huila region of southern colombia, robinson has a beautiful and very well maintained farm of geisha and bourbon coffee varieties and is known for his intense focus on quality over quantity. taste notes: almond brittle, fuji apple, creamy dulce de leche, milk chocolate, red grape, fruit tones of apricot and pineapple. overall rich and round with crisp malic acidity.

Kenya rich. Fruity. coffee is shipped whole bean to ensure freshness and flavor. The othaya farmers cooperative has gained notoriety for many of the coffees they produce. the karuthi factory is one of many in the cooperative that produces outstanding and exceptionally unique lots. The red volcanic soils of this region, along with cool temperatures, and slow cherry maturation, contribute to a distinctly wonderful flavor profile. taste notes: complex, multi-layered, spice-toned. coconut, blackberry, ginger blossom, wild honey, dark chocolate in aroma and cup. The structure is sweet, tart, and savory in balance with juicy, bright acidity; plush, syrupy mouthfeel. The long, resonant finish centers around berry, and coconut, supported by ginger blossom and chocolate. An abundant, high-toned Kenya cup with berry and tropical fruit notes, spicy florals and deep chocolate.

Jorge vides who first started cultivating bourbon and caturra coffee varietals 3 generations ago on his la bolsa estate in la libertad, huehuetenango. In addition to growing fine coffees, jorge was passionate about his community and as a traveling doctor, made significant impact on the region. The national hospital of huehuetenango bears his name, honoring his 30 years of dedicated service. Jorge's intense commitment to quality, processing improvement and farm investment was only matched by his altruistic values. In 1980, jorge's la bolsa estate also opened a small school to educate the local children and like the farm, the school is still running today. We're honored to offer these coffees from the vides family. taste: rich creamy milk chocolate, sweet fruit notes of strawberry, blackberry, golden raisin, mandarin orange and slight rum as it cools.

All coffees are shipped whole bean to ensure absolute freshness and flavor. jose oliveira has firmly secured his seat on our menu with this exceptional single origin coffee. this fruity stunner was farmed in the cerrado mineiro region, an area known for producing high scoring specialty coffees and the only region in brasil with a "protected geographical indication". taste notes: spiced apple pie, plum pudding, almond brittle, maple syrup and allspice. great medium body complemented with a silky red anjou pear acidity coming through. this pulped natural process coffee is truly exquisite.

The capucas community has fought hard for their reputation of quality. located near the mayan ruins on the western side of honduras, they have led the way in mill modernization for the sake of producing clean and consistent coffees. along with greater tools, they have added intensive farmer education, coffee quality competitions and several green certifications. this coffee has been decaffeinated using swiss water processing. taste notes: beautiful and unique coffee with red currant acidity atop a smooth bakers chocolate base.

Ethiopia rich. fruity. coffee is shipped whole bean to ensure absolute freshness and flavor. kilenso mokonissa is one of the smallest villages in the borena hagermariam district of sidama. In the past, the coffees coming from kilenso would have been blended into larger lots and sold under the area's catch-all name, "ardi. " since coava began separating it out, the kilenso has become a customer favorite due to it's unique flavor profile. the farmers here use organic farming practices but find certification is unattainable due to the high certification cost. the producers are methodical, conscientious and passionate about growing and harvesting incredible coffee. taste notes: brown sugar, lavender, blueberry, dark rum, banana liqueur, strawberry, hints of marmalade, grape juice and almond biscotti. kilenso is a unique and stunning standout coffee you'll love in any preparation.
